Do what I Say
Fat Children

Recorded at Mixolydian Studios in Boonton NJ in late 1979.  This was the first trip to the Studio by the Spuds.  The songs were rehearsed extensively by the band before going in and both songs were recorded in 2 to 3 takes.  Recorded by Don Sternecker on a 16 track Ampex machine, the sessions took about 2 weekends.  Final disc mastering was done by Robert T. Speiden.  The band lineup is as follows:

Billy Martin (Stinky) - lead vocals, guitar
Bob Thena (TBO) - drums, vocals
Tom Coogan (Freemont) - electric bass
Phil Clayton (Phish) - lead guitar
Lazlo BooBrick - vocals

The piggy face cover concept was hatched by Billy and Bob, and the photos shot by Mary Klein, BooBrick's sister.

The 45 rpm record was released in 1980 as WM723.  It received substantial college airplay on the US east coast and mid west.  The minor use of obscenities on the record kept it off commercial radio stations.
